Wow Long time no post

I haven't been blogging for approx. 6 months. It is summer and we only have about two weeks left. :( I will be in high school which is exciting and seeing every body will also be good. I don't really keep in touch over the summer. No one will probably read this but oh well. I wanted to post something short to show that i still have the blog.

My Holiday!

I am going to Hawaii! We will be there for two weeks- March 26- April 12.
The only bad thing is all the homework that I need to get. The good thing is that when I get back it is Easter Holidays so I will have that time to catch up.
We are going with my grandma. This will be my second time there but this time we are staying at our time share resort!
I am really glad that my parents give me the opportunity to travel.

Nothing New.

I just thought I would do a quick post.
I love my room and my bathroom. I get ready every morning with no one to bug me. It is awesome!
  Well thats it for now.

Highland Dance!

I competed in a dance competition this past weekend and I won! I got fourth in sword and first in flora! I was so happy because I got a stamp. This competition is supposedly hard but I got first which was a really surprise.

At the competition in Lacombe I also got my jig outfit! It includes a white peasant shirt, a comberbun with green ribbon, and a red gathered skirt.. oh and my slip goes under of it (I need to order the red heels).  I can't wait to wear it at my recital!

Me the Camera Man- Well Woman

There is another basketball game today and I am going to video tape it.  My brother, Jared, wants to know what he looks like when he plays so I am going to video him. Last week we were the Ridgevalley Cheer Leaders!  It was fun and we even had matching outfits. We cheered t the pep rally and that was about it.
Oh and fellow cheer leaders, sorry for messing up the cheer. he he. oops.

Life Choices

Pressure, Pressure, Pressure. I don't know what I want to do in life and it seems like I am suppose to know right away. I have so many doors open right now that I don't know which one to walk into. Things I would love to do are; forestry, own my own business, artist, photographer, teacher, and anything to do with outdoors. As you can see I have many interests and I just don't know what direction to go in. If you have any pointers please tell me them. .....

A Short Update

I am just sitting here in computers and thought that I would blog. There are only eight people in class today since the high school get a few days off. I guess everyone else thought that they could skip because their siblings were. Not fair. :( I still had to come but oh well having less kids is more fun.
So my life is as busy as ever. We are still doing finishing in our house and hopefully soon we will be all done. Except for all the landscaping in the spring that is coming up soon.
Also we have thirteen horses! We are boarding nine and have four of our own. Going out there and feeding at times is a little scary, especially when they all surround you and start kicking at each other!
Just a short update to keep you posted.

Gym

Miss. Stinton told us that we are going to be dancing in gym for the whole month of February! To me this is good and bad news. I love to dance but I also love other sports which we will be missing out on. :(  I am not sure what kinds of dance we are going to do but I hope they are fun.
Another thing that will make dance fun is teaching. Me and Miranda have already approached Miss. Stinton and she said that we could teach a highland dance. :) I know most people won't take it serious but it will be fun anyways.

Obama's Inauguration

Today is the day! Barack Obama is the 44Th president of the United States of America and he has just made history. He is the very first black president. I believe this is an important mark in history. For many years African Americans have been looked down upon in the U.S. They were never allowed to be in the government and now that has changed. Obama's family were immigrants and that is also significant. His father worked as a janitor for the longest time and they were definitely not a wealthy family.
I just thought that this day is quite significant to the history of the United States and the rest of the world.

Driving

I haven't even posted about having my learners! Well I do have them and have since August. I haven't been driving since the weather got so bad but I think I will try winter driving soon. My mom says that I am a very cautious driver and I agree. My Dad made me drive on the highway and I got up to the speed limit which was a surprise, since everyone thinks I drive like a grandma.
I have a year and a half left to drive with my learners and then I can get my drivers. In the mean time I have to save up for a truck or maybe a car but I really want a truck so then I can hall stuff around.
This truck in the picture is kind of what I want except if it was white with some dice in the window and pink interior that would be even better!

Number One Hockey Fan

I love to watch hockey. Whether it is my brothers peewee game or the NHL I love to watch it.
Last year my brothers peewee team won the B banner in the league and I cheered so loud. I had a blue storms horn and my competition was this little girl on the other team. She also had a blue horn and we were going back and forth. Our team won so I guess I won the little fan war too.
Around here most people are Oilers fans but I actually like the Flames better.
If I have the time I will put some of Jared's hockey pics up.

Christmas- far gone

:(
Its all over and we are back at school.
I had a great holiday in my new house! There isn't much furniture in it yet but it is a house. We got our tree Christmas eve and haven't taken it down.
How was your holiday?

Busy Me

So as many people, I am also very busy. I have never had so much school work to do in the last week of school before Christmas. It is crazy. I have a math and science test, two social projects and a L.A project. I have done my test already but still have to finish up two of my projects.
I can't wait till Christmas. And we are moving in tonight so I will be able to sleep without my blankets freezing to the wall.

Semi Formal

Tomorrow is the semi formal dance! We had one last year at it was a great success so once again we are having one. Most girls get dresses and the guys are expected to wear a dress shirt. This year we are adding something a little special. We are going to have a tiarra for the best dressed girl and a crown for the best dressed guy.

Hope to see every one there!

Moving In

So I guess I haven't really given anyone an update lately.
We are just about done painting and are hoping to be moved in by Christmas. The holiday trailer is getting a little chilly with this cold whether so I think it is about time to move in.
Once we get totally moved into our house it is going to feel so big compared to living in our tiny little holiday trailer. We will probably follow each other around.

And as soon as we get settled in I want to have a snow party! lol We could go sledding and skating on my dugout and then drink hot chocolate!

Santa Clause is Coming to Town.

The count down is on. People are putting up trees and starting to shop and you can tell that Christmas is coming soon.
Then there is me and my family who are still stuffed in our holiday trailer. We can't even put up a tree because it won't fit.
One thing I love about Christmas is Santa. Just so you know I still don't believe in him but the look on the children's faces who still do believe just makes me happy. It is so magical. The white snow sparkles and everything about Christmas is just wonderful to me.
I wrote this post to get everyone in the Christmas mood. So when you are out Christmas shopping and you feel stressed please remember that Christmas is suppose to me a wonderful, magical time of the year.

Painting

We are at the painting stage. So far we have painted our main area of the house and the powder room down stairs. The main area is a grayish green colour and the bathroom is a orange.

I am pretty sure that I have decided on my bedroom colors. My theme wall is going to be white with black flower/vine stencils and the other walls will be a rose pink. I am thinking that my bathroom will be a pearl white since I am planning on my room being quite flashy.

If you are a paint expert and have any tips for me please let me know. It would be a great help.

A Great Video

I was at my cousins last weekend and we watched this youtube video over and over!

I love his accent!

The Worlds Hardest Game

This is a great game that you can play on addictinggames.com. I have made it to level eight. This game consists of many blue dots that move back and fourth and you are a red square that has to move through them to get to the finish line. It is super addicting and hard.

I tried to add it to my blog but it would not work so just go to the URL to play this awesome game! http://www.addictinggames.com/theworldshardestgame.html

I saw Twilight!

So as I promised I saw Twilight and now I am going to tell you about it. It was good but not amazing. This was actually the first time that I had ever read a book before seeing the movie and now I see what people mean. Like, the movie wasn't horrible but as expected some parts were just different than I had imagined them. We went for Miranda's birthday so I was with them at the time and at some parts of Twilight we just busted out laughing because a few of the lines just sounded so cheesy. I was disappointed a bit but overall it did capture the main essence of the book.

Some other highlights of Miranda's birthday were
*getting ready in my holiday trailer
*eating tons of popcorn at the movie
*playing with hedge hogs in pet land
*buying grills (fake gold teeth) and wearing them in Safeway and to Joel's hockey game where we bopped our heads to the music. lol
*Going to Joel's game (they won)

Ya, so as you can see this weekend was one to remember.

Raiders Gear and the Weekend

I just got my outfit that I ordered a couple of weeks ago! I got a raiders track suit with my name and an volleyball on the arm. They are really nice even though the pants are a little big.

OK... the weekend just keeps getting closer and closer and I keep getting more excited! It is Miranda's 14th birthday and we are going to Twilight the movie! I know that I have already posted about this but I can't even stop thinking about it now so I just have to write more. We are so crazy about Twilight and I even had the great idea of making t-shirts that say " I love Edward"!

So I will totally tell you what I think about the movie so if you go to see it please tell me what you think!

7 days!

Oh my gosh! I am so overly excited for Twilight. It is a movie that is coming out in seven days that is based on a great novel. Twilight and its three sequels are books about vampires and werewolves and the are amazing! Edward the main vampire sounds so hot but in the movie trailers he doesn't even live up to his description. :(

I just can't wait!

25-0

Wow! :(

That was the score of our last game. I actually started to cry because we were losing so bad. It was horrible. Our team just fell apart and I felt like I was trying to hold it together but I just couldn't anymore.
The team we played had about twelve players and six of them were in bare feet.
It was a really sad day for us but next year will be better since we get to go to senior! I am so excited for the new opportunities that it will bring!

"Travelin' Soldier"

Two days past eighteen
He was waiting for the bus in his army green
Sat down in a booth in a cafe there
Gave his order to a girl with a bow in her hair
He's a little shy so she gives him a smile
And he said would you mind sittin' down for a while
And talking to me,
I'm feeling a little low
She said I'm off in an hour and I know where we can go

So they went down and they sat on the pier
He said I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't care
I got no one to send a letter to
Would you mind if I sent one back here to you

Chorus: I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter said
A soldier's coming home

So the letters came from an army camp
From California then Vietnam
And he told her of his heart
It might be love and all of the things he was so scared of
He said when it's getting kinda rough over here
I think of that day sittin' down at the pier
And I close my eyes and see your pretty smile
Don't worry but I won't be able to write for awhile

[Chorus]

One Friday night at a football game
The Lord's Prayer said and the Anthem sang
A man said folks would you bow your heads
For a list of local Vietnam dead
Crying all alone under the stands
Was a piccolo player in the marching band
And one name read but nobody really cared
But a pretty little girl with a bow in her hair

[Chorus x2]

To me this song is very touching. Even though I have never lived through anything like it I just love the story in it.

This song is about a young girl who meets a "traveling" soldier and they fall in love. The soldier goes to war and in the end he ends up dieing. Its a great song that I love to play on my guitar every now and then.
One of my favorite lines is "And he told her of his heart, It might be love and all of the things he was so scared of."
Traveling Soldier is a magical love story. If it was turned into a movie I would definitely go see it. The tune of the music is a perfect fit for the story.

All together I really enjoy Dixie Chicks.

Electric or Acoustic ? ? ? ? ? ....

I play guitar but I have a problem at the moment.  My guitar that I have right now is a junior acoustic guitar and it is too small so I need a new one. I can't make a decision though. I love the look of the electric but I think I like the sound of the acoustic a bit more. Lately I have been playing country songs but I would also like to play rock so I just can't seem to decide!

I actually had a dream the other night that I got the perfect guitar! It was an electric guitar on one side and a acoustic on the other! lol I wish they had those in real life. :(

I have been debating over this for a long time so if I could get other guitar lovers opinion it would be great! Well even if you don't play the guitar please give me some advice. :)

Highland Dance

If you didn't know I dance. Miranda and I are in the same dance class and its great having my friend in my class because then we can dance all the time- at school and anywhere else. This is my seventh year in Highland Dance and I still love it as much as I did when I started!

Highland dance is not river dance. Its Scottish dance. We get to dance over swords and we wear kilts. Its so fun!
Many of the dances are about being strong but some are also about being graceful. In Highland Dance there are many techniques that you need to perfect and I still haven't perfected all of them. I know eight dances and they all in time from about 2-4 minutes.

Miranda and I also compete. The competitions are so fun and we try to go to as many as we can.
This summer I ended up getting two fifths and a fourth. Miranda got her first stamp which was great since you have to get a third and that's what she got!

I plan to dance for at least two more years.

Art

I love anything that has to do with creativity! That's why I can't wait until the second semester of school because that's when I get to start art class's with Mr.Shell.
Last year we ended up making masks and then painting them. It was so fun but the bad part was that I had to re-do mine. :( I used pink and blue acrylic paint and made flames going up the mask and water running down it. It turned out really great and I think I am going to hang it in my new room.

School=Drama

School defines drama. I don't know why its always there but it is. Some people feed off of it but I don't. Its hard to explain. Do you ever feel this way?

Like the world around you is so messed. I do but then again its so great. Life is weird if you think about it.
This is an odd topic but it has been on my mind lately and I just thought that I should talk about it and see what other people think.

Please tell me what you think. It would be great to see what you think.

Halloween

I can't wait till Halloween. Yes I am fourteen and I am going trick or treating. I think I want to be a teen from the fifties but I don't have a costume.

If any body has any ideas for different costumes please tell me because this 50s costume isn't set in stone yet.

Zones a Maybe.....

So Thursday I was playing volleyball in gym and I dislocated my big toe on my left foot! The timing isn't really great because we have zones coming up but I am pretty sure that I will be healed by then. I went in to get it x-rayed yesterday but the results aren't back yet so I don't even know if it is broken. I am not putting any weight on it since it really hurts.
I really hope it heals quick!

School. Fun Fun Fun.......

Okay so school isn't the greatest topic ever but I just thought I would write about it today because it is whats on my mind.
Being a teen is tough although school for me (the actual learning) isn't bad. I am so excited because I just found out that right now I'm sitting at a 97% in science! Wow.
I just wish that sometimes our school had more options even though I know it isn't possible because of our declining numbers. :( Like music class. I haven't had music class since grade two and I enjoy music so much.
Oh well..... I really love Ridge Valley though because I have been here since Kindergarten and I now feel that it is a part of me! The small classes and knowing everyone in the school is just great and thats why I love it.

Four Day Weekend! Waahoo

I am so thrilled! We have a long weekend and  I can't wait to dig into some mash potatoes and turkey! Oh I have been craving turkey and now I can finally eat some this weekend. Hopefully I don't come back to school ten pounds heavier. lol

Well, have a great long weekend!

My Alpacas

I don't know if you know but I raise alpacas and absolutely love them! We now own around one hundred and they are part of our day to day lives.
Lots of people wonder why we have them and what is their use. They have so many uses but the main one we use is their fiber. Alpacas are known for their warm fluff and it sells for a good deal of money because of its quality. We also have many people asking us if we eat them and now we do. There are just those few alpacas that are not good fiber animals and effect the herd in a negative way so they go to the butcher. That is not our main business for our farm but we do do it just so you know.

If you have anymore questions about our alpacas leave a comment and your email address so I can answer them for you .

Moving Out!

So I just finished eating supper after a hard day full of work. The whole family came and now we are almost moved out. The disappointing part is that we can't move right into our house since its not done so into the holiday trailer we go. My heart is torn in half at the moment because I am so enthusiastic about moving into our house but then it means that the mobile home I've lived in for half of my life so far will be gone.
I also can't wait till there is a weekend once again when nothing has to be done and me and my family can have a movie night. That will be stupendous!
There are so many things that will be great about our house too. Like the bonus room. In it we will have a ping pong table, a corner for a T.V and probably a wet bar for the parents but it will also have pop in it for us. I can't wait to have a few friends over and hang out in my new house!

Paint Colours!

So we are just getting the dry wall up in our house and soon it will be time for the paint. I am thinking pink but I need some ideas. If you have any great ideas or tips please tell me because I am stuck.

Volley Ball Update

So I totally forgot to tell you about our volleyball tournament! It went good and I had tons of fun even though we only won one game. We also had a really close game against the Peace River Saints but in the end we lost which was okay since we played amazingly well.

We also have another tournament this weekend in Valley View where we plan to do good..... well hopefully we do do good. Even if we don't win we always have fun at tournaments because we get to stay over in their schools and go out for supper.

I will tell you how we do.

My Crazy Life

I have just realized that right now is the busiest time in my life so far. We are pretty sure that we have sold our house so that means we have to pack up and move into our holiday trailer since our house that we are building isn't ready. It is nuts and with school and everything else starting my life is crazy!

Talking about crazy we had our volleyball tournament and ended up winning one game but also had a lot of great sets throughout the two days that we were there. I think our team learnt a lot about skill and attitude and that improved our game a lot.

***Tell me about your life and whats crazy in it because I am sure I can relate !

So Excited

So we have our first volleyball tournament tomorrow and I am amazingly excited! I just hope we do good and win a game or two. We are leaving the school at 1:30 and our first game in Fairiview is at 6:00. The A boys are also going but they play their first game at the same time as us so we won't get to watch them. :(
It should be a lot of fantastic fun! :)

Read This

"Who was the first guy that took a look at a cow and said " I think I'll drink whatever comes out of those things when I squeeze them? " - Calvin and Hobbes comic

This quote is just great and I also find it funny at the same time for some reason. Its telling you that sometimes people think that trying something new seems weird or incorrect but at times the result is a lot greater than people expected.
Another great example of this is Leonardo DaVinci's type of one man helicopter. Many years back Leonardo sketched a flying machine (years before the Right Brothers had even thought of flight) and everyone believed him to be out of his mind. But as of today an inventor in Japan has used Leonardo's idea to build an actual helicopter based on DaVinci's model.

This just goes to show that anything is possible and can be a good idea even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.

*For more information on Leonardo and his inventions go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci

The Most Amazing Book Ever!

So I know that everyone else is writing about this on thier blogs but I just had to too! These books are the best things that was ever wrote (in my opinion). Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn will blow your mind! Edward the most perfect guy ever who just happens to be a vampire will make you wish that you yourself could be in the book.

If you haven't read them, READ THEM and if you have you will know exactally what I am saying! Even though I don't read much these books I can't seem to put down.

Pac Man!

Oh my gosh, Pac-man is so fun. Its like a classic and I love it. I wonder if there is anyone who doesn't like Pac-man. Try it and if you don't like it leave me a comment saying so.

Volley Ball

Today we had another great practice and I am really excited for our up coming games and tournaments. Our A team consists of the grade nine girls and some grade eight girls but we only have two setters and I am trying to decide if I want to be one. I can set accurately enough but I love getting the first hits and as setter you usually never get the chance to get them so I have a delema to solve,...... can you help? Give me your thoughts.

Our House

I am going to be keeping every one updated on the building of my house since thats probably the biggest event that is happening lately in my life. At this point we are at lock up, which means the elements of nature can't get inside. I am really excited for it to be done and we are hoping it will be finished by Christmas. I will try to get some pictures of what we have done on my blog soon so you can see the progress yourself.

My First Post

So this is my very first post and I am very excited to start blogging. I have decided to call my blog A fourteen Year Old's Worldview because I want to be able to talk about things that are happening all over the world and I feel that with this title I will be able to post whatever I want. Hope you like it!
